Technology Capabilities

The unique performance characteristics of LumiFlux EL lamps provide a broad spectrum technology solution to satisfy customer challenges in existing and future electroluminescent lighting and energy saving applications.

LumiFlux EL lamps are 2-3 times brighter than current commercial EL lamps on any equivalent drive (voltage and frequency).

To match commercial EL lamp brightness, the driving voltage can be reduced by 30% or the frequency by 50% for LumiFlux EL lamps, significantly increasing the service life.

LumiFlux lamps are able to operate in the 200-300 cd/m² brightness range with high efficiency (8-10 Lumens/Watt), optimum brightness maintenance, and without excessive driving parameters.

Above the 200-300 cd/m² brightness range, LumiFlux lamps are reliable and have consistent high efficiency (above 7 Lumens/Watt). The brightness maintenance decreases in continuous operation, and when running the lamps at very high brightness (above 400 cd/m²), the flashing mode drive can moderate the negative effect of the voltage and frequency increase.

When the brightness is lowered below 200-300 cd/m² - by driving the lamps with reduced voltage and/or frequency - efficiency and brightness maintenance are further improved (10-19 Lumens/watt). As an example: 30 cd/m² brightness can be maintained with 16 L/W efficiency for thousand of hours operation, on extra low voltage (ELV).

The Key Performance Charts show the connection between drive and performance.

LumiFlux lamps will generate 200 000 cd/m²-hr of accumulated light output (in other words the lamps can run for 1000 hours with an average of 200 cd/m² brightness level) before the brightness is reduced to the initial brightness of a quality commercial EL lamp.
